Join KCSWCD as we meet up with Consulting Forester Mark Brown on his property to learn more about the identification and management of Maine’s common invasive species. Maine Forest Service District Forester Jared Gregory will guide us through the property to learn about some of the invasive species we find in and around our woods. We will learn about identification as well as various methods and strategies to control their spread. District Forester Allyssa Gregory will also be present to introduce the Maine TREE Foundation's "Tree Farm" program and explain how landowners can participate.
All attendees will receive a free copy of the "Maine Invasive Plants Field Guide" to help you identify more invasive species.
After our educational walk, join us for a complimentary BBQ lunch where you can connect with other participants and continue the conversation about invasive species management.
With only 24 spots available, this opportunity will fill quickly! Secure your place today and take the first step toward becoming an effective steward of Maine's natural landscapes.
This workshop will be located near 184 Taber Hill Road in Vassalboro. The location will be marked with pink flags!
This workshop was funded through a Maine Forest Service Outreach Grant through the Maine Association of Conservation Districts. For more information about the Maine Forest Service, click here!
